Located in the heart of the Junction Triangle, TuckShop Kitchen is a quaint neighbourhood take-out joint that specializes in burgers and sandwiches. And given the current pandemic that has forced restaurants to close indoor dining more than once, take-out is exactly what’s keeping businesses like TuckShop Kitchen thriving and the customers that they serve avoiding having to give up their favourite treats.
Today’s Business Spotlight is focused on Century Park Tavern, a fabulous bar and eatery located in Davenport Village on the north side of The Junction Triangle.
The owners, who also own LoveChix, were looking to expand their restaurant empire and chose to open another eatery within the same neighbourhood, this time with a little more ‘oomph’ in terms of both decor and menu offerings.
It didn’t take long for Century Park Tavern to take off. Locals immediately took to the restaurant, many already having been frequent patrons of LoveChix.
Perhaps Century Park Tavern was filling a need in a part of the Village that was heavily underused. In fact, that particular section of Davenport Village was a virtual wasteland. But the opening of Century Park Tavern is helping to fill the void that locals didn’t even know they were missing.
The restaurant is located in a heritage building designed back in the early 1900s, and transforming it to what it is today seemed like a seamless transition for the LoveChix crew.
When owners Jim Shelton and Paul Marshall first saw the place, they knew this was where they should be. Half of their guests live in the area, so there was little need to build back a rapport that was already established, and they capitalized on that by staying close to home. Since taking possession, the team revamped the place and now boasts a gorgeous interior and amazing patio.
Everything that was found on the LoveChix menu can now be found at Century Park Tavern in its own little section. But now, they’re offering a wide array of other goodies that are worth a sample. In addition to the classic comfort food dishes, you’ll also find a myriad of other items, including social platters where everyone at the table can enjoy sharing plates and good drinks.
There are also a number of more eclectic dishes for those with a palate for something different. And they’re always adding to their offerings. Just recently, Century Park Tavern made their Brunch menu available, along with seafood stations on weekends, oyster offerings, and even Sunday night roasts.
The place has been a hit since it opened. Take-out is also available.
If you’re looking for something traditional to the Davenport Village area but want to try something a little different, the place to go is Century Park Tavern!
