There’s more to love about the Junction Triangle besides the great community vibe and awesome places to call home. The local businesses in the area also play a key role in making the Junction Triangle a truly unique part of Toronto, and that includes Henderson Brewing.
Henderson Brewing is a local brewing house near the Junction Triangle and is the focus of this week’s Business Spotlight. This local hot spot is not your average brewery. Instead, Henderson Brewing takes a more unique approach to how it views and serves beer.
While the company is a producer and supplier of beer to retailers and bars, it’s also a place for people to gather to enjoy beer made right on site. And when you pull up a seat, you’re doing more than just indulging in your favourite ale: you’re also immersing yourself in Toronto’s rich culture and history.
Henderson Brewing is where you’ll not only find fantastic, award-winning and approachable beer, but also incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff who take the time to fill patrons in on all their beer products, including how they’re made. Any questions guests have are always answered with a smile. Customers can either grab their beer and go, or chill out on the welcoming patio with friends while enjoying regular events and entertainment.

Owner Steve recognized early on that beer is something that brings people together in the friendliest of circumstances. Having been in the beer business his whole life — first as a brewer, then in marketing and sales — Steve wanted to create a place that the community could gather, rather than just a place where beer is made. Much like how Starbucks transformed the world of coffee and created a hub for people to get together over a cup of joe, Steve wanted to do the same with beer.
Already familiar with the Junction Triangle area for years, Steve found the area particularly attractive for his business venture. He and his business partner had been looking for the perfect space to house their brewery, and when they caught wind of a large warehouse becoming vacant in the Junction Triangle, they jumped on it.

It’s simply one of the best spots in the city for a brewery both because of its ideal geographical location surrounded by the excitement of commerce and work/live studios with so many people, but also because it’s on the Rail Path. Locals can easily access the brewery from the Path by walking, biking, or jogging over to the brewery.
In addition to Henderson Brewery, there are still many other aspects of the area that continue to bring people to it, including the likes of the Drake and MOCA art gallery, to name a few. It’s simply a fantastic spot.
